I Thought I Heard Him Say, “When You’re Saying Your Shoes”

About six months ago, my girlfriend bought a new computer. In the time since the purchase, she has yet to transfer her music collection from her old Mac to her new Mac. As a consequence, when we want to listen to music on her computer, our options are rather limited. One item in heavy rotation has been this mix by Schwartzblog, which has one of the all time great mix opening tracks — a track I had never heard before and whose name I did not know until this past Monday when my girlfriend sent me this video clip:

Prisencolinensinainciusol is the full-tongued name of this song. It may sound like a language you just don’t understand, but it’s actually gibberish. Intentional gibberish.

The New Yorker’s Sasha Frere-Jones calls it “a loving presentation of silliness.” Right on.
